:D Well, I'm finding out that building from the head doesn't work. Especially when there are more than one head doing the planning. My partner and I have come to a wall and the foundation isn't complete yet. I am now in the process of making up some drawings, while waiting for the plans for the shop to come in. But man I hate to have head butting sessions right from the start. My Partner is the best!! but he has a habbit of getting in to bit of a hurry. I came home to find 9 footers all at different elevations  Gonna have to redo alot of that work or form around it and pour over it  .

Well Randy
I have built bunches of stuff, and a lot of it aint got nuthin ta do with woodworkin, but when I do I always try and do a renderin, weather it be a schematic of plumbing, like this hydrolic feed, that I just now got goin,, or in some cases when I got electric magic ta do,,, Well heres an example,, that aluminum camper that we had towed by your house a year or so ago, that started on a napkin at our picnic table, even the structures I've built, from the post-erstuds, up to the joist and such is always drawn out, and I also swing it into 3-D which helps find areas that dont look correct, ot wrong applications and stuff,,

I've have also been recruted or asked to help build structures and stuff, and if I agree I always let it be known that there can only be one boss, or leader,, that way if there is a screw-up, there is only one person to blame,,

Ive been building houses for 18 years and have yet to do one without a blue print. I build things in the shop all of the time without one. But on a large undertaking such as your shop its nice to have a print. Even a crude drawing sketched on a piece of paper. Get all of your ideas down before its crunch time. You dont want to have to stop production while you figure your problem out. I try to think of every probability before hand, and a drawing is a good place to start.

That's what I always say, if all else fails, fix the blame. Then hide the evidence & walk away.

Reminds me of the coffee cup my wife got me years ago. It has a pic of a Native American chief on it. Under the pic it says: "Around this camp there's only one chief!" I think she was patronizing me  . Around here we all know who the "real chief" is! Unfortunately, it's not me!

The opinions expressed by the husband are not necessarily those of the management.

Thankfully this sign has not been seen in my house. Yet.

Could be a hold up at the sign shop  Or, some things just go unsaid!
Seriously though, I've got my mill and lots of "stuff" out in the garage. She can keep being the "chief" as long as she wants to be. Besides, she keeps me out of trouble, and listens to me whine and complain (at least pretends to) when someone else makes me mess something up. She agrees that I would never have done that myself!! 8)
