Unique presentation using a movie-slideshow approach. Clear large images. No usage or historical info. Still a work in progress.

Incomplete list of Kentucky's native trees. Few pictures. But their fact sheets are good.

The Nobel Foundation Plant Image Gallery
Large database.

Salsibury University Arboretum

USDA Plants Database
Extensive list. Varible quality and availability of images. Wood qualities and usage info included. Range maps included.

USDA Silvics Manual - Volume 2: Hardwoods
This is a large interactive PDF file. At over 1700 pages it takes a long time to load.

Dendrology at Virginia Tech
Extensive database. Images are small but clear. Printing is small and hard to see. Landowner fact sheets (historical uses, fun facts, etc.) are excellent but not all species include them.

Vanderbilt Bioimages
Large database. Excellent quality images and many per specie. Some comparisons done on hickory and others. No usage or historical info. This site is very tricky to use but very rewarding.

What tree is it?
Small database but well presented. Not enough images but good historical and usage info.
